Swiss Half Fare Card

Swiss Half Fare Card is part of Swiss Travel System and offers the many benefits to the travellers. With this Swiss Half Fare Card, you can travel for half price on all SBB routes and most other railways as well as on boats and Post busses.

I. Features:

• 1st class & 2nd class
• 1 month validity period from the first day of travel.
• Passenger will need to purchase locally corresponding reduced ticket in order to travel on the desired route.
• 50% discount will apply on most 1st or 2nd class tickets however please note discount can be less in some cases especially on very short routes (urban travel)
• Available as Print at Home

FREE SWISS FAMILY CARD (for families travelling together)

• This free card allows children, from 6 up to 15 included, without limitation in the number of children, to travel for free whenaccompanied by at least one parent (including step and foster parents) that is in possession of a valid Swiss Travel System Ticket.
• Valid with any Swiss Travel System product (Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel Pass - Flex, Swiss Half Fare Card).
• Seat reservation charges are additional to the Swiss Family Card
  

Sales conditions

• Available for adult travelers in first and second class.
• Valid for residents outside of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
• Cards are prevalidated at time of purchase and can be purchased 6 months in advance.
• Children under 16 travel free when accompanied by parent, and travelling with the Swiss Family Card
• The Swiss map is required to travel, either printed or via the following link: area of validity
• The name on the rail pass must match the name on the passport
  

II. Child rules

• Children up to 5 included - free if no reservation is required
• Unlimited number of children from 6 up to 15 included - free if holding a Swiss Family Card. See Features section above
• Children from 6 up to 15 included who are not members of thefamily - still qualify for a 50% reduction on Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss TravelPass - Flexi
  

III. Eligible Party

People with a permanent residence outside of Switzerland & Liechtenstein (for more than 6 months) are eligible to purchase or use a Swiss Travel System product.

IV. After sales policy

Refundable up to 3 day prior to first date of validity with 15% cancellation fee, thereafter non-refundable. If card is used, non-refundable.

V. Ticketing method

For Swiss Half Fare Card: ticket will be attached to your booking confirmation email as a pdf. Please, print your pass or card prior to boarding your first train.
