Peaks & Trains Experience

Day 01: Montreux - Chillon Castle (Free with STP)

• Arrive at Zurich airport and take the train to Montreux via Lausanne. Check-in, rest for a while and then leave to visit Chillon Castle (included in Swiss Travel Pass). Chillon Castle is one of Europe’s most fascinating castles, on the shores of Lake Geneva right at the foot of the Alps, facing the lake. Overnight in Montreux.

Day 02: Montreux - Olympic Museum (Lausanne)

• Take a 90 mins boat cruise to Lausanne. Arrive at Lausanne and visit the Olympic Museum (included in Swiss Travel Pass). The Olympic Museum has 3000 m2 of exhibition space, over 1500 exhibits, 150 screens. Spend some time in the city and then take the train back to Montreux. Overnight in Montreux.

Day 03: Montreux - GoldenPass Line - Gstaad - Glacier 3000 - Interlaken

• Check out from the hotel, experience the Golden Pass Line from Montreux to Gstaad. Deposit your luggage in the cloak Room at Gstaad and take the bus to reach the Glacier 3000. Take the cable car to reach the top. There you can enjoy the Peak Walk by Tissot, only suspended bridge connecting two peaks, the Ice Express, the Glacier Walk as well as many other activities. Return to Gstaad train station and leave for Interlaken. Arrival in Interlaken by train and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 04: Interlaken - Jungfraujoch

• Excursion from Interlaken to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe at an altitude of 3454 m/11’333 ft. One can travel to the top either by traditional way of Cogwheel train or by the Cable Car and save time. From Grindelwald Terminal to the Jungfraujoch in just 45 minutes! Take the new Eiger Express tricable gondola from Grindelwald Terminal to the Eiger Glacier and from there continue to Europe’s highest railway station on the Jungfrau Railway. Visitors have access to a high-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 05: Interlaken - Zermatt - Gornergrat

• Check out and take the train to Zermatt. Arrive and keep your luggage in the hotel. With its sunny observation platform accessible all year long, the Gornergrat, at an altitude of 3,089 m, has been one of Switzerland’s top excursion destinations since 1898. The Gornergrat Bahn was the world’s first fully electrified cog railway. Board the cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat, with views of the majestic Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and other spectacular summits. Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 06: Zermatt - Aletsch Arena

• Day trip to the Aletsch Arena region. The family-friendly and car-free Aletsch Arena is one of the secret tips in Switzerland. Located between Interlaken and Zermatt with over forty 4000 m peaks around it, the destination offers one of the best views in Switzerland to the Jungfrau, Matterhorn and Mont Blanc (France). The Aletsch Arena is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and home of the 23km long Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier of the Alps. True to their slogan “feel free”, the Aletsch Arena is the ideal place to escape the hectic daily routine as it has been voted number one in rest and relaxation within Central Europe. Enjoy action-driven activities like mountain carts, scooters and the interactive museum “glacier world”. Spend 3 - 4 hours in the lap of nature and then return back to Zermatt. Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 07: Zermatt - Glacier Express - Chur - Zurich

• Check out from the hotel and board the Glacier Express train which is one of the greatest train journeys in the world. You travel from Zermatt to Chur. A 5.5 hrs railway journey across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 metres in altitude, through the unspoilt natural beauty of a landscape rich in ancient fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries-old culture. De-board the train at Chur and take the train to Zurich. Overnight in Zurich.

Day 08: End of Tour

• Return to any Swiss border or Swiss airport or continue your stay in Switzerland on your own.
